Our Story

Hi, we are Colin and James Stanton, brothers from Enfield, North London. Colin, a former Electrician, and James, an accomplished Art Director, each with over a decade of experience in their respective fields. In 2016, fueled by a shared passion and a longstanding affinity for coffee, we decided to embark on a joint venture into the unfamiliar territory of the coffee industry.

The idea of opening and running our own coffee shop had been a lingering dream for years. We envisioned creating a space that amalgamated the best elements of various coffee cultures. A place where customers could experience the same excitement we felt when exploring new coffees worldwide. A place designed not only for comfort but also for the sheer enjoyment of being in a vibrant community.

Our opportunity arose in 2016 when a vacant shop on a small local parade became available. We viewed it as the perfect moment to actualize our dream, and without hesitation, we seized the chance.

Over the course of 9 months we meticulously transformed the empty shell of the shop into Stantons. Balancing a tight budget, full-time work commitments, and the responsibilities of James' young family, we undertook the majority of the renovation ourselves. Colin applied his electrical and manual skills to the refurbishment, while James utilized his design expertise for the interior and branding.

Fast forward six years, our journey continues to flourish. With a growing team and a lasting impact on our Borough, we've earned a reputation for delivering exceptional coffee. Moreover, we take pride in introducing a diverse selection of single-origin coffees from around the world. Stantons is more than just a place; it's a community hub and we take pride in being here.
